Thanks for stopping by and checking out our page on Bertolli Olive Oil. I made this site because I enjoy
the product so much. I use the Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive oil on all my salads. I have tried other brands and they
really don't compare to the authentic taste that Bertolli consistently produces. I am going to share with you
the different brands, descriptions of them, and a little history about the oil that comes from olives.
Olive Oil is used in many other products other than for cooking. It is used in soaps, as fuel,
cosmetics, and even oil lamps. The olives are ground down and chemicals or machines are used to remove the oil. It
is first transformed into paste and churned slowly, allowing for the concentration of tiny oil droplets.
Bertolli began there company on the idea that there was a need for a higher quality, consistent,
old world tasting olive oil. They perfected it almost immediately and there company has stood the test of time for
over 150 years.
Bertolli Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Known for having a great full flavor that has a hint of a fruit taste. This is created by a
system of cold pressing the olives. It has a smoke point of 406 degrees Fahrenheit. This is the temperature at
which the oil burns. It tastes great with bread, pasta, salads, and even mixed in with your favorite sauce.
This is an all around oil that is great when used as a cooking oil. It adds a soft aroma of
olives to the air while cooking your favorite soup, vegetables, and pasta sauce. Try adding it to your baste while
marinating your meat. It makes them very tender and juicy. It has a smoke point of 460 degrees which makes it a
good oil to grill with.
Bertolli Extra Light
Instead of using butter, canola, or vegetable oil, give Bertolli Extra Light Olive Oil a shot.
It has a very light, almost clear color. It does not have a strong olive taste, and will make the incredibly moist
muffins and bread when baked in the oven. The smoke point is very high at 468 degrees Fahrenheit. This gives it the
ability to be mixed with high heat foods that need to be fried, sauteed, baked or seared. If you fry your food
at home, and are tired of the greasy taste, you may want to give this a shot. Your food will be crispy and have
much less grease.
